1. A poem. Poems are a great way to show you're partner you love and care for them. You can find a few online, or you can write one yourself (whether you write poetry frequently or not, it's still really sweet). Either way, a poem always shows sincerity with a low budget.
2. A home cooked meal. Going out to dinner is nice, but most couples will be doing that, making the wait time a possible hassle. So get ready to show off your culinary skills! Wine and dine your partner with a classic spaghetti dish, or impress your date with five full courses. And don't forget to add a little dessert to your meal.
3. Run a hot bath. Who doesn't enjoy a hot bath, especially after a long day at work? You can even stop by the dollar store and pick up some candles. Maybe you can even buy a few roses to spread across the floor leading to the bathroom. For another romantic addition to the mood, you can get a favorite CD or playlist from an mp3 player, and have it ready and playing for them when they come home.
4. Make a CD. If you're partner really enjoys music, you can make them a CD with all of their favorite tunes, or love songs. Also, you can decorate the outside of the case so that they know it's especially for them. You can purchase blank CDs and cases in places such as Wal Mart or Target.
5. Go out for a picnic lunch. If the weather permits, take your date on a lunch in the park. Surprise them with a packed basket with some of their favorite foods for their lunch break. Afterwards, you can take a walk together, which would not only be great exercise, but a great opportunity to talk and reconnect.
6. Send thoughtful texts throughout the day. Almost everyone enjoys a "good morning" text. Send thoughtful text messages throughout the day to show your partner that you care, and that you've been thinking about them. But don't send too many texts because you may appear obsessed. No more than 10 thoughtful text messages should be about the right amount. And if your partner texts you back, then that's just more texts you get to send!
7. Give your date love coupons. Love coupons are a great way to keep the romance in the relationship. A love coupon is a home made coupon of free thoughtful things that you agree to do for your partner that can be used at anytime! For example, one could be a body massage, and another could be dinner at their favorite restaurant. Usually, this gift is given in multiples, but you can make as many as you would like!
These are just a few ideas that will make your Valentine's Day, or any day, feel very special. Feel free to post some of your favorite cheaper Valentine's Day gifts in the comment section.
Happy Valentine's Day Everyone!
